It stands out due to its high strength, rigidity, and dimensional stability under exposure to heat as well as its very high dimensional stability and low creep tendency. PBT, like polyester in general, has very good friction and wear properties. In comparison to PET, PBT has better impact resistance, especially in cold. Like other polyesters, the PBT polymer is particularly suitable for use in food technology as it has excellent resistance to caustic cleaning solutions and those containing chlorine. We only use the modified PBT GF 30, not pure PBT. Compared to PBT, PBT GF30 has optimised properties in several areas, making it suitable for parts subject to static loads at high temperatures. Since glass fibres tend to cause a somewhat significant abrasion of the mating surface, PBT GF30 is less suitable for sliding applications.
